India’s energy demand is increasing rapidly. Currently, nuclear energy is 4th largest source after thermal, hydroelectric and renewable sources, contributing less than 3% of total demand. Government estimates hope that proportion of nuclear energy will be increased to 25% of total demand by 2050.
